Aurizon Traction Load Study 

Project Description 

Aurizon is one of the world’s largest heavy-haul railways. A significant portion of Aurizon’s railway has been electrified since the 1980s with numerous substations reaching end of life and requiring refurbishment. 

Incite Energy was engaged to conduct a network modelling study and simulation to determine the network limitations associated with substation refurbishment. 

Key Achievements 

A dynamic load flow study was conducted to determine the extent of traffic which would be achievable while various substations are out of service for refurbishment.
