Kwinana, WA
Owner’s Engineer, Grid Connection Oct 2018 – Ongoing
Project Description
Supporting the Owner’s Engineering team for Australia’s first thermal Waste-to-Energy plant in Kwinana, WA. When complete, the plant will process approximately 400,000t of residual (post-recycling) Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) per annum, exporting approximately 40 MW of continuous baseload electricity to the Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM) and diverting waste from landfill.
Incite Energy is the Owner’s Engineer for all Process Electrical systems within the plant, as well as overall responsibility for managing the connection to the Western Power transmission (132kV) network.
Key Achievements
Amidst a backdrop of grid connection delays for many large-scale generation projects in Australia, Incite Energy worked closely with Western Power to deliver the grid connection infrastructure for Kwinana Waste to Energy ahead of schedule.
