In the last week two events reminded us of the important links between our activity supporting the energy transition and the underlying work in academia that underpins our work.
Firstly – Professor @Martin Green was awarded the Millennium Technology Prize in recognition of his and the University of NSW’s work leading solar cell efficiency improvements. Virtually all the solar power generation installed today leverages Professor Martin’s work and its importance to the commercialisation of solar energy can not be understated.
Secondly – Sun Cable announced a partnership with nine scientific and academic institutions from across Australia and Singapore to to centralise grid research, boost innovation and ultimately support cross-border renewable electricity trade. To be known and the Asia Green Grid Network, this grouping is targeting the generation, transmission, storage and grid management innovations that will underpin the next decade of commercialised renewable energy investment. We commend Sun Cable and all the universities in undertaking this initiative.
Incite Energy is focused on supporting business implement the commercialised solutions that flow from these universities’ research work. We are grateful for their efforts to date, and excited by their potential discoveries in the future.
