Footage of Incite Energy’s Engineering Director, Neville Wood, flying his drone on site at the proposed Bristol Springs Solar Farm near Waroona, WA.
Part of the early works is to undertake geotechnical investigations for the solar farm and 330kV grid connecting transmission substation. Flying north across the South East corner of the site, the area covered in this short clip is the future location of the 330kV Air-Insulated Switchgear (AIS) Substation that will form the grid connection to Western Power. The team is at work undertaking the soil electrical resistivity testing to enable completion of earthing designs that focus on safely dissipating any potential high capacity fault currents.
